Terms and refunds

Who we are

SweetVocab is made by your name or business name — add before launch. In these terms “we” means us and “you” means the person using the app.

The free trial

The first time SweetVocab starts, you get 7 days with the AI features included, within the trial's daily amounts (for example 10 new words a day). No card and no e-mail address are needed, and nothing is charged when the trial ends.

Pro

Pro costs 99 kr a month or 799 kr a year (prices include VAT where it applies; the checkout shows the price in your currency). It includes the AI features up to generous amounts that keep the service fair and running for everyone — today up to 1,200 new AI-written words a month, a new story every day and two conversations a day. Settings → Your plan always shows what is left. If the amounts ever change, a change takes effect from your next payment, and never below what the price page promised when you paid.

One Pro plan is for one person, on their own computers.

Payment

Payments are handled by our online reseller Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for every order: they take the payment, send your receipt, handle VAT and answer billing questions. We never see your card.

A subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.

Cancelling

Cancel any time with the link in your receipt e-mail, or write to us. Nothing more is charged after that, and Pro stays until the end of the month or year you paid for. After that SweetVocab keeps working without the AI features: every word you made, your reviews, quizzes, the alphabet, your streak and your badges stay free, for good.

Refunds

If SweetVocab is not right for you, ask for your money back within 14 days of a payment — your first one or a renewal — and you get it back in full, no questions asked. Ask through the link in your receipt e-mail, or write to us with your account number (Settings → Your plan). The refund goes back the way you paid; Pro ends when it is refunded.

Nothing here takes away any right your country's consumer law gives you.

The AI

The cards, sentences, stories and conversations are written by AI. We check every card for the right language and a beginner's reading, but AI can still make mistakes: if something looks wrong, you can edit it, and please tell us.

Fair use

Please use SweetVocab to learn. Don't use the AI features through anything but the app, share an account, resell the service, or try to get around the trial or the plan's amounts. We may pause an account that does, and we will tell you why when you write to us.

The app itself

SweetVocab's program, design and texts are ours. You may install and use it on your own computers. Please don't copy, sell or share the program, or take it apart to build another product from it. Parts made by others — like the kana stroke drawings from KanjiVG — are used under their own licences.

When things change

We keep improving SweetVocab, so features may change. The AI features need the internet and our server; if they are ever unavailable for a while, everything else keeps working. If we ever stop the AI service for good, we refund the unused part of any paid month or year. If these terms change, we update this page and its date; a change that matters for what you pay applies only from your next payment.

Responsibility

We work hard to keep SweetVocab reliable and your words safe — the app keeps a daily backup on your computer. Still, we provide it as it is: as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, and our responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. This does not limit anything the law does not let us limit.

These terms follow Swedish law. If you live elsewhere in the EU, the consumer law of your own country still protects you.
